E-Passporte is the new (and best) e-wallet option available to U.S. online players post-legislation. All the features we use to experience with Neteller and Firepay exist with a few differences. Due to a huge influx of new customers, it takes 7-10 business days for your bank drafts to load into Epassporte. Fortunately, deposits to the online poker sites is immediate and the cash-outs from the sites usually only takes a day. Fees are a bit higher than Neteller since you do pay a $5 or $2 fee (depending on funding source) when you make a deposit into Epassporte (transfers in from the poker sites are free). Access to your funds online at shopping sites (eBay, Amazon, etc.) is much easier with Epassporte through the use of the virtual VISA card you are provided for free. For an annual fee, you can obtain a real-world VISA card to access your funds at merchants in the off-line world. You need one of these sites to effectively take the best advantage of the occasional bonus offers provided by the online poker sites. Believe it or not, the speed at which deposits move from a poker site to your bank account is faster through these sources than a direct cash-out from the site (1-2 days vs. 4-6 days). Establishing an account with Neteller or Firepay will also allow you to provide your bank account info to only one site and not to every poker site at which you play. Record Keeping I know that many of you will glaze over at the thought of tracking your poker statistics, but I assure you that you will never reach your full potential if you do not learn to track your wins and losses. This is the BEST statistical poker software available in my opinion. You are given the ability to track your hand histories at more sites than any other software available. The software is updated regularly, so it remains relevant. Cost: $55 POKER OFFICE
The is another excellent choice for your tracking software. The software currently supports over 50 sites from including Party Poker, Poker Stars, the Prima sites and iPoker sites. Some cool features are the live pot odds calculator and the graphing tools. Cost: $79 POKERSTAT
Another good software package with some limitations. At this point you can only load hand histories from Paradise Poker or Poker Stars, so if your home base is Party Poker, Ultimate Bet, or any other site you are out of luck. One nice feature is the collusion spotter. Cost: $65 |
